The HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro is a high‑end rack‑mount recorder/player built by Blackmagic Design, designed for broadcast and professional production workflows. It supports recording and playback of SD, HD and Ultra HD (2160p60) content in a variety of industry‑standard codecs—including H.264 / H.265, Apple ProRes and Avid DNx formats.

- Inputs and outputs: one 12G‑SDI input, two 12G‑SDI outputs (plus loop‑through), one HDMI 2.0 input and one HDMI 2.0 output. This allows full UHD workflows as well as legacy SD/HD.
- Dual media slots: two 2.5″ SSD slots and two SD card slots—allowing continuous recording by switching automatically when a media fills, plus hot‑swappable SD card slots for longer sessions.
- High end connectivity: 10 Gb/s Ethernet for fast file off‑loading or remote control, RS‑422 deck control, timecode in/out (XLR), reference input/output (BNC) for sync with other gear.
- Broadcast‑style controls: physical transport buttons, a machined jog/shuttle wheel, a colour 2.2″ front‑panel LCD for clip previews, timecode, audio levels and media status.
- Redundant power: dual internal 100‑240 V AC power supplies plus a 12 V DC XLR input for battery or external power.
- File formats and coding flexibility: For SD/HD it supports H.264; for Ultra HD it adds H.265. ProRes 4444 fill & key playback supported via dual SDI outputs.
